Hello and welcome to Family Lifeline
I am Bisi Adewale
I’ll be talking to you today about BEYOND WISHES!
Sometime ago, some school children went on an excursion to a Garden. The garden which sits on twenty acres of land was a beauty to behold. With waterfalls, bouncing castles, massive array of flowers and an amazing architecture, it’s place you won’t want to leave in a hurry.
To say the children were captivated is an understatement, they spent hours in the garden and begged their Teachers to bring them again.
Before leaving they had a moment with Pa Fredrick, an 82 year old retired Soldier who planted the garden which is now a desired destination for young and old alike.
The children asked him a couple of questions and some told him their desire to have a garden like his. In his response Pa Fredrick answered all their questions and said:
’ My Children, all of you wish you have a garden like this, it is a good wish, but wishing doesn’t build a garden. I met this place a forest, i had to use Machines to pull down the Trees, drew the picture of what i want in a garden, then i began to plant, i did not just wish it.
Dear Listener,
Like Pa Fredrick, you can’t have a garden only by wishing to have one, you plant and tend it.
Having a great Marriage and Family is exactly like that, you don’t just wish for it, you plant it, build and tend it.
Stop envying those who have good homes, they did not get it by accident or by wishful thinking.
Roll up your sleeve and build a blissful home.
A blissful home involves laying a solid foundation for your marriage by praying, watching and choosing right after seeking counsel from the right source.
It also involves adequate preparation for Marriage, lots of people only prepare for the wedding, what a mistake.
Joyful marriage involves tolerance, commitment, kindness, Patience, prayer, romance, love, submission, forgiveness and selflessness.
If wishes were horses, they say beggars will ride. Stop wishing your marriage is better make it better, stop wishing your spouse is better, make him or her better by being the best you can ever be.
