Family Finance: How To Change Your Family Financial Level Pt 1
Bisi Adewale

What manner of family is yours? How can you rate your family? What is your level in the family finance grade?
Let me open your eyes to six kinds of families as they stand financially. You need to know this so as to be able to work on yourself, your source of income, your way of spending, your belief system, lifestyles and your attitude to work, money and people around you.
1. Very Poor Family. These are very poor families. They are so poor, even poor people call them poor. They can’t meet their basic needs of life. They eat anything available and lay their heads wherever the night finds them. Poverty is boldly written upon them. In fact, they are poverty personified.
2. Poor Families. They are a little bit better than very poor families. Their lives are full of struggles about what to eat, what to drink and what to wear. They work for money with sweat and tears. They serve rich people all their lives. They cannot send their children to the right school, lives in the worst places in the city, working for several hours per day with little or nothing you show for it.
The lives of poor and very poor families are full of sorrow and fear of creditors like food stuff sellers, cloth sellers and landlords (house owners). They lives in ancient ‘face-me-and-face-you’ house and pray that rent will never be due.
The life of both poor and very poor families is a pitiable one, they die so easily because they cannot pay medical bill of few hundreds of naira, they resort to concoction to cure malaria, typhoid and other minor ailments until it becomes a great problem. They call friends and families to help, but since their friends are also poor; they can do little to help if they do help at all. Result- the poor man or his child or wife dies of diseases that would have cost maybe less than #1,000 to cure had it been it is quickly tackled.
I pray for you, your family will not be poor. But it is not just about saying amen to this prayer; it is about knowing what to do and doing it to better the lot of your life and family.
