21) RAISING CHILDREN OF DIFFERENT AGES ALIKE: Children of different ages should be raised with their ages in mind; total parenting for toddlers, semi-total for pre-teens, cooperative parenting for teenagers. If you use total parenting for your teenagers, you will have rebels in your house.
22) SHOUTING ON CHILDREN: Many parents, mothers most especially are “yellers”. They shout regularly on their children. This is very wrong.
23) RAISING CHILDREN WITHOUT THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: No matter how good you are, you need the Holy Spirit to raise godly children. You will regret it if you don’t.
24) PROXY PARENTING: Sending your children to your parents, aunts, uncles or any other family members is a mistake many parents live to regret.
25) LOVING THEIR CHILDREN MORE THAN GOD: If you love your children more than God, you are at the risk of making God to see your children as your idols.
26) ABANDONING GOD BECAUSE THEY ARE RAISING CHILDREN: Lots of parents do abandon God to pursue money at all cost to raise their children. What a mistake that is!
27) LOVING CHILDREN MORE THAN THEIR SPOUSES: Showing you love one child over the other will start a sibling rivalry that may consume your children. Ask Isaac and Rebecca in the Bible.
28) RAISING CHILDREN WITHOUT HEAVEN IN VIEW: If you raise children just for them to be great here, without you preparing them for heaven you make a great mistake.
29) REPORTING THEIR SPOUSES TO THEIR CHILDREN: It will be a great mistake to report your spouse to your children. It is very wrong.
30) NOT ASKING FOR THE BAPTISM OF HOLY GHOST FOR THEIR CHILDREN: One major prayer to pray for your children is baptism of Holy Ghost. You will be making a major mistake, if you fail to do that.
31) SENDING THEIR CHILDREN TO SCHOOLS OWNED BY UNBELIEVERS: When you send your children to unbelieving school and they help you to raise them wrongly, who will you blame?
32) FAILURE TO HAVE FAMILY ALTAR IN THE HOUSE: Family altar is the place to groom your children for God. If you don’t do this, you will regret it later.
33) FAILURE TO BE A GOOD EXAMPLE TO THEIR CHILDREN: Your children will remember 20 percent of whatever you tell them and 80 percent of what they see you do. If you are a bad example, expect bad children.
34) FAILURE TO LAY SOLID FOUNDATION FOR THEIR PARENTING WORK: Your children’s foundation should be solid and in Christ, any other foundation is a sinking ground.
35) FAILURE TO ACQUIRE SKILLS FOR THEIR PARENTING WORK: You’ve never read any book on parenting, you’ve never attended any seminar, and you are clueless as far as parenting is concern. This is terrible.
36) RAISING TEENAGERS LIKE TODDLERS: You will be making a great mistake if you try to raise teenagers like toddlers. Please get a copy of my book PARENTING TEENAGERS for more on this.
37) FAILURE TO BEGIN PARENTING WORK WHEN THE BABY WAS IN THE WOMB: Every parent, mother especially has the rare opportunity to influence the life of a child from the womb. This can be done in prayer, placing of hands on the womb, confession and reading of the word of God to the baby unborn.
38) THINKING A CHILD IS TOO SMALL TO BE TAUGHT THE WORD OF GOD: While the world is catching children at early stages, most Christian parents do not think it is necessary to teach their children the word of God. This is a major mistake.
39) STARTING PARENTING WORK TOO LATE: Parenting work should start before your pregnancy in prayer and supplication. Preparing to start parenting a child as a teenager can lead to serious battles.
40) GIVING UP TOO SOON ON A CHILD: Lots of parents do give up too soon on their children. This is a mistake.
41) FAILURE TO RELEASE THEIR CHILDREN WHEN THEY GET MARRIED: Holding tight to a child that is married can lead to battles of in-laws. It is another major mistake.
