5 FACES OF MONEY IN MARRIAGE

For effective money management in marriage, the couple involved must be acquainted with the 14 faces of money as it affects every home. To have a smooth marriage and live a prosperous family life, make out time to learn about these faces.
They are:
- Source of Money. An acknowledgment and awareness of the true source of money causes us to improve the way we handle money in our marriage. God is the source of money not man. Your boss is not the source of your money even though he pays your salary. Read these scriptures- Deuteronomy 8:18, Philippians 4:19, Psalm 105:37
- Channels of Money. God is the source of money, but men are the channels He uses. Angels can never come down to give you money, only men can do that. For this cause, handle your God-given channels wisely. Proverbs 27:17-18. Treat people with respect always.
- Money perception. Your perception of money as an individual lines your dealings with people as far as money is concerned. It also determines whether you will live in plenty or prosperity.
A stingy, generous, extravagant, greedy, diligent, workaholic, lazy or prudent attitude can all be linked with one’s perception of money. It will affect the way you relate with your spouse which will also affect the way he/she will respond to you. Perception simply means the way you see or regard something and your beliefs about what it is like. This is more important than the amount of money you have in your bank account or your ability to make money.
- Injury of Money. Can money injure someone? Yes! In fact, it has injured so many and even killed millions. Money can injure someone when the person falls in love with money. Please read- 1 Timothy 6:10-11. Many lives, destinies, futures, marriages, integrity have been destroyed because of the love of money. If you don’t want money to injure you, don’t fall in love with it. The love of money is the beginning of all evils.
- Bondage of Money. Money can hold one captive even while still mobile. Debt is Satan’s way of keeping many people in bondage. Proverbs 22:7. That is why you must do everything to avoid debt and if you are already in it, pay up. You can’t be in debt and be free.
