PLAY YOUR WAY TO A BETTER MARRIAGE Part 2

Welcome to Family Life-line
I am Bisi Adewale

A Preacher was preaching about marriage in his Church one Sunday morning, he suddenly stopped and asked the married couples to pray that God protects their best friends from sudden death.

They Jumped to their feet and prayed for about three minutes before the Pastor stopped them. He asked if any of them had prayed for their spouse, amazingly only five people had considered their spouses as best friends.

The few couples who had prayed for their spouses mentioned the reasons they consider them as best friends, one thing was common, they all said ‘we play together’.

Couples can talk, go out together and even cook together. All these only make them husbands and wives. Until they begin to play, joke and laugh together they can’t be friends.

Marriage can be so boring if you are to live the rest of your life with someone who is not your friend. To be friends, being playful with your partner plays a big role.

Is your marriage sober and serious that it can be mistaken for a business partnership? Are you practicing what someone call an executive marriage? Relating officially instead of being friends and lovers? Common, you need to lighten up and bring some fun to your marriage.

Couples that have a light-hearted approach to life and play together have happier marriages than their counterparts in serious, business-like and executive relationships.

Being playful with your partner helps to reduce stress and tension. It is even a lot more fun when it is spontaneous and each party can express him or herself without fear of being judged.

What you need is a Good sense of Humour. Laughter bonds people – especially in relationships. It helps if you find similar things funny since you’ll be able to appreciate each other’s jokes and funny stories.

If you can find humour in every difficult situation in your marriage, the two of you will have the strength to overcome even the worst situations. Laughter also gives you a unique bond with each other.
