IMMATURE THINGS MEN DO IN MARRIAGE

There are many immature things men are fond of doing in their marriages that make marriage difficult for many. You need to check them out if you are a man and deal with them before they deal with your marriage. They are:

–  Rejection of food cooked by their wives because they are angry. This is a foolish thing to do. Why will you reject the food cooked with your money, in your house by your wife? It is a very good sign of immaturity.

– Telling your wives several times, “I am the head of this family”.

– Shouting when arguing with their wives.

– Issuing threats of divorce, beating, marrying another wife or leaving the house.

– Abandoning the house because of misunderstanding is another sign of immaturity. 

– Reporting their wives to their children, friends, parents, siblings whenever their wives offend them.

– Competing with their wives.

– The feeling of insecurity and jealousy

– Keeping malice with their wives.

– Keeping diaries of offence 

– Nagging

– Comparing their wives with the wives of their neighbours, friends and their mother. (2 Corinthians 10:12)

– Loving their mothers more than their wives.

– Abusing their wives.

– Making things generally difficult at home.

– Criticizing their wives.

– Accusing their wives and mothers-in-law of being witches. 

– Fighting their wives on the street.

– Speaking out to embarrass their wives in the public.

– Calling their wives fools, goat, animal, etc. Whatever you call your wife is what you are. If you call her a goat, by default, you are Mr Goat.

– Blaming their wives often

– Failure to take care of the family.

– Transfer their frustrations from office to their wives.

– Being unloving and uncaring.

– Leaving their houses without telling their wives where they are going.

– Watching their wives labouring themselves to death at home; cooking, boiling, frying, scrubbing, clearing, etc without lifting a finger than watching the television and browsing the internet. This is a high level of immaturity. A mature husband will know that a woman is fragile; she needs to be tendered and nourished by supporting her at home. 

Immature husbands hide under the canopy of barbaric customs and culture to treat their wives as a slave but real men don’t.

– Immature men don’t help their wives in raising their babies. They don’t know how to nurture the baby. They can’t put on the diapers for their child when it is due for a change. All you will hear is “come and carry your baby”. But mature men are great fathers; they are deeply involved in raising their children.

– Not being appreciative of their wives’ efforts at home. They will never say, “Thank you” after eating their wives’ food.

-Cannot apologise when they are wrong; “I am sorry” is a strange grammar to them.

– Failure to forgive their wives.

– An immature husband will not pray with his wife, will not partake in the family altar and he is not the spiritual head of the family.

– They are full of consistent complains.

– They are closer to their mothers, friends, siblings than their spouses.

– Not accepting blame for any wrongdoing; they are always right.

– Taking credit for all success. 

– Boasting and bragging.

– Not committed to their marriage.

– Allowing friends and family members to direct the affairs of their homes.

– Failure to do any work waiting on their wives to feed them.

– Not picking their wives call when the call comes in.

– Talking to their wives about their ‘ex’ girlfriends.

– Don’t create time for God, in prayers and reading of the Bible.

– Drinking alcohol and partying.

– Treating their wives and other women as if they are not wise.

– Taking vengeance for every offence.

– Loving their jobs than their families.

– Giving room for bitterness and resentment.

– Constant outbursts of anger.

– Not having a mentor or leader.

– Taking spiritual leadership with levity.

– Constantly referring to old mistakes and errors of their wives.

Men, check all these out and develop yourself. If you find yourself doing at least two of these immature things; it is a sign that you are not yet mature, no matter your age.
