PARENTING TECHNIQUES FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

MAJOR DUTIES OF PARENTS
1: LEAD THEM TO CHRIST
Be deliberate, lead your children to Christ, it is your duty, to take your children to their Savior
“The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth”(Isaiah 38:19 KJV)
2: ROOT THEM IN CHRIST
Leading them to Christ is not enough to root them in Christ “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands” (2 Timothy 1:5, 6 KJV)
3: PRAY FOR THEM
Always remember that you are a co-parent the real parent is God. The children are His own, they are his heritage.
“Lo, children are the heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth” (Psalms 127:3, 4 KJV)
Remember that “Except the Lord builds the house the labourer will labour in vain.Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain” (Psalms 127:1 KJV).
All your efforts are nothing until you hand them over to God, he is the one that can truly teach them, take your children regularly, consistently to God in prayer, make them your prayer project all the days of your life.
“And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of thy children” (Isaiah 54:13 KJV)
4: TRAIN AND DISCIPLINE THEM
“plant acorn in your children you will reap an oak”
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 KJV). Training up your Children is not negotiable, train them to have good manners, train them to be responsible, to do domestic chores. A child you fail to train is the destiny you successfully destroy, so get on the field, train your child the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it.
5: PROVIDE FOR THEM
You have to provide for your Children especially at their tender age, you need to provide love, care, health care, money, clothing, Shelter etc.
The Bible made it clear that you can’t say you are born again if you fail to provide for your children.
“But if any man provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel” (1 Timothy 5:8 KJV)
6: PLAY WITH THEM
It is not a sign of weakness to play with your children, it is what they want, it is what you have, it doesn’t cost anything, just release your mind come down to their level to access playing with them, this is one of the best ways to demonstrate your love to these little ones. Be a friend to your Children, be playful with them, get on the rug roll on the floor, get on the field, play the football, basketball, table tennis with them, FAMILY THAT PLAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER.
“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24 KJV)
