MISTAKES PARENTS MAKE WITH MIDDLE CHILDHOOD-Here we need to examine some mistakes parents of middle childhood are found of making and find solution to them

—Treating them like babies

One major mistake parents of middle childhood are known for,is treating them like Toddlers and infants,this do make it difficult for the Parents to connect these children and do make parenting difficult.

Solution: always remember that your middle Childhood is no more a baby,learn to connect them like a little grown up and learn to commit some duties into their hands with your supervision,also teach them to make decisions on their own.

— Treating them like adult: on the other hands,Parents do make the mistake of treating their middle Childhood as a Teen or as an adult,it is wrong.

Solution: The fact that your Child is now in school does not make him an adult,though not a baby,he is at the middle of Childhood. You still need to guide him,supervise him,he is still naive,you must protect your child and move closely with him

— Not spending time with them:

Parents do spend more time with Toddlers and infants but are fond of neglecting their middle childhood,assuming they are now older and should be on their own.

Solution: Create time to be with your Child,the greatest investment in the life of your middle childhood is time,spend time with him talking,connecting,teaching and playing together,you can not raise a child well if you can not be with him.

— Failure to answer their Questions: One thing you should know about middle childhood is they are inquisitive,they ask questions,they want to know,and it will be totally wrong to shun them and refuse to answer their questions

Solution: you will do well to answer their questions,if you don’t know better tell them you don’t know and promise to investigate and get back to your Child rather than to shun him.

— Failure to lead them to Christ: To me the greatest mistake a parent can make is to fail to lead his Child to Christ,that will be a grave error,a serious mistake.

Solution: please read chapter…… To know how to lead your Child to Christ.

— Failure to root them in Christ: Leading a Child to Christ is not enough,it will be a very serious mistake if you fail to root your child in Christ.

— No sex education: It is a major duty of parent to give sex education to their Children,most parents do fail in this regard giving room for sexual predators to feast on their Children.

— Failure to be patience with them: impatient is one of the major mistake of an average parent of middle childhood. That is why you see them(mothers especially) shouting,jumping up and down in anger and a times doing and saying things they will later regret.

Solution: parenting a Child of this age needs plenty of patience,you need to learn it,practice it,pray for it and walk your way into it. You can’t raise a Child in love if you are not patient

— Shouting on them: It is this lack of patience that makes an average parent scream as been pursued,when dishing out instruction and it seems the child is not yielding. Some even use abusive words and pronounce curses on their Child in anger,this is wrong and Childish.

Solution: Do not shout on your Child except if the house is on fire,be gentle with your Children,be patience with them,do not make them to fear you,do not make them to hate you.
