Many would like to define beauty in the context of physical qualities that are obvious in the form, shape, perfect figure eight, make up, clothes, jewelry, shoes, etc that a lady reflects as she goes about projecting herself and life daily but that is thinking “outward.” The Making Of Inner Beauty

What we are talking about is the “inward,” the beauty of a bright mind in the light of Christ. Looking better from God’s point of view begins on the inside, not the outside. In the eyes of the Lord, inner beauty matters more than outer beauty because it is found in the hidden man of the heart, in that part of you where Christ alone can enter, change you by His grace and implant His life into you. Inner beauty is essential because it dictates your outward beauty.

In a nutshell, beauty is when you allow God works in your heart, you receive new life of Jesus Christ and you begin to demonstrate outward evidence of living the life of Christ is the Christian’s beauty.

WHAT TO DO TO RECEIVE INNER BEAUTY.The Making Of Inner Beauty

(1) Fear of God: “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30). Beauty starts with the newness of God in your heart, allow Christ to wash your dirty heart and life in order to make you clean. Sinful life is dangerous for your future as this will hinder the plan and purpose of God for your life. Remember young ladies like you in the Bible who had great life and marital destiny like Rebekah, Mary (Mother of Jesus) etc they never stained themselves with immoralities, they were beautiful and virgins. (Genesis 24:16, Matthew 1:23). Don’t define yourself like Dinah (Genesis 34:1-2)

(2) Let Holy Spirit help you: The apostle goes on to say that beauty is the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is, in the sight of God, of great price (I peter 3:4). So the essence of true beauty has to do with being filled with the Holy Spirit, you must be under great influence of this spirit so that your totality would be controlled by Holy Spirit. The kind of spirit you carry determine how far God will use you, it determines the man you will attract as a marriage partner, children of darkness will attract themselves because they have devil as their father, while true children of God will be guided by the help of Holy Spirit in their academics, marriage, career, friendship etc. Holy Spirit will help you grow beyond pettiness common among young ladies.The Making Of Inner Beauty

(3) Change your thinking: Psalm 45:13 “The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold”. Have positive mindset about yourself, if you don’t love and accept yourself, it would be difficult for other people to love and accept you. Do not covet another lady’s stature, nose and face shape, breast size and your height; celebrate what God has endowed you with. Change your thinking about marriage, in law and people generally, marriage is good, in laws are wonderful and people can be very nice to you, it depends on your thinking and disposition.

(4) Acquire necessary skills: Psalm 78:72 “So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands” There are a number of skills you need to intentionally acquire to live a great life now and in marriage, such as communication skill, cooking skill, people management skill, multi-tasking skill, conflict management skill, dressing skill (dressing that glorious God, covers your nakedness, not revealing, not seductive but project you well), etc all these and many more great skills combine together will make your beautiful and glorious.

(4) Develop Right Character: Model your life in line with the scripture, do not choose wrong mentor via media or those who called celebrity who do not have the fear of God. Develop marriage building character that will help your future home. You may have to take stock and strike out negative attitudes you have picked from parents, peers, environment and society at large. You must inculcate hardworking attitude, godly, meek, patience, caring, respectful, neatness, selflessness etc, learn from Rebekah in Genesis 24, hardworking and respect earned her a good husband and comfort in marriage.

(5) Choose Carefully: Deut 30:19 Choose life that thou may live, your journey in life has lots to do with many choices you will make, which determine whether things will be pleasant or miserable, beautiful or ugly, rosy or challenging, look at areas you need to choose wisely:

(i) Associate with good people because your association determines your destination, friendship should not be by force, flock with people that will move you closer to God and fulfilment of your destiny, not destroyer of destiny that will take you away from the presence of your maker Proverbs 13:20

(ii) Be careful with marital choice: Proverbs 18:22, 20:6. Position yourself rightly for a right partner, be a favour someone is praying for and let God help you locate a faithful man from His sanctuary not by materialism, wrong values, sweet words, gifts etc but by His spirit saith the Lord.

(6) Be progressive: Develop yourself, do not be static and let everyday produces a better edition of you. Never say you know it all, keep moving, adding value to your life, get busy with your purpose for living, stop wasting your useful age. Proverbs 9,12 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

Christian sisters, are you beautiful?

Remember, beauty is not just something that you put on alone. It is not something that you diet to get. It is not something that is shown in low-cut tops exposing the flesh or in shrunken tops exposing the belly button. It is not something seductive. It is not something tight fitting. It is in the heart.
