THE REAL BEAUTY OF A LADY
By Bisi Oludare
Beauty truly is in the eyes of the beholder, I believe in this axiom and I usually behold myself in the mirror. Therefore, I’ve always known that I am not only pretty and beautiful but also very classy. As typical of guys, I got load of complements that could make one think there is no tomorrow but I kept my head up because I just knew they were all correct since I am God’s image. This helped me as a young lady to see those words as great compliments that should be appreciated and not stuff that will turn me to their sex-slave. No offence in seeing good thing and appreciating it anyways.THE REAL BEAUTY OF A LADY
Reality is guys can flatter! You get all sorts; QUEEN, ANGEL etc. Anyone seen an Angel before? Sure they do this to have their way since ladies are moved by what they hear.
Compliments are wonderful but how you react to them is the challenge. We get that every day and ladies are wired to get such. Some ladies react wrongly to compliments because they are looking for people to validate them since they probably didn’t get it from their parents. Their esteem is shattered so they need help.THE REAL BEAUTY OF A LADY
I was mentoring some ladies in my church and we got to this, what I got from them was surprising but it helped me to really entered their world and we were able to sort out those issues.
Here are some of the things I told them in order to help with their finding ‘ME’ (Validation) mentality:THE REAL BEAUTY OF A LADY
1. Know Your Worth: You need to know that your worth isn’t in what people say or what they don’t say.
2. Have A Value System: please you can try to google LIST OF VALUES and pick 10 that you can resonate with, and then from the 10; pick 5 that are dear to you. Start to consciously live by these values and people will soon love you for you.THE REAL BEAUTY OF A LADY
3. See Compliments as what they are- APPRECIATION of God’s work and nothing more
4. Have friends that have the same value system as you do. Be in the company of people with like minds.
5. Build you self esteem by reading books and staying around positive people.
These will help you to be on top of your own game. THE REAL BEAUTY OF A LADY
Believe me Sweet; you are pretty, beautiful, charming, trendy, intelligent and you are a damsel. Your true beauty shows when you accept yourself and don’t allow the flow of your life to be determined by what others think. Whatever they think is their opinion.
What matters is what God says about you which is YOU ARE IS IMAGE. what a privilege to be like God!
