PARENTING FOUNDATIONS IN A DIGITAL AGE – Part 2

Foundation cannot be over emphasized if you desire a solid and glorious future for your children. Every positive seed you sow as a parent is an investment you will live to reap in the life of your children. Listed below are foundations that must be in place to raise good, godly and great children

1) BREATH FOUNDATION
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7 KJV)
— Every Child comes in a dusty way, they need the breath of life to become a living soul.
— To breathe on them you must stay with them.
— God did not send angel to do it for him, hence, you can’t delegate the breath.
— You breath on Children by spending time with them and showing them what to do
— You breath on them by going out with them.
— You breath on them by teaching and training them.
— You breath on them by praying for them.
— You breath on them by leading them by example and be a model.

2) UNITY FOUNDATION
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (Psalms 133:1-3 KJV)
— Destiny of a Child is in the Unity of the parents
— When you stand together, you can withstand anything.
— Nothing confuses a Child like parents who are playing different tunes from the same keyboard.
— When parents always disagree about their Children arguing in their presence they may end up decrying those children.

7) DISCIPLINE FOUNDATION
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. (Proverbs 22:15 KJV)
Training is to improve strength or self Control
Training involves discipline.
Discipline is:
— The act of punishing for wrong doing.
— A Child not Discipline is a Child born for destruction.
— Discipline is not just about beating
— There is a thin line between Punishing and Child abuse.
— Discipline your Child, but don’t abuse
— Aggressive beating is not discipline it is Child abuse.
— A child not discipline may end up a disgrace.

3) TRAINING FOUNDATION
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 KJV)
— Training of a Child is not a Biblical suggestion, but Scriptural injunction.
— If you don’t train them when they are young, they will trouble you when you are old.
— Training involves deliberately moulding their lives the way you want them to be.
— It involves shaping characters, habits, changing manners, developing self control.

4) LOVE FOUNDATION
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4 KJV)
– Stop been harsh
– Stop been wicked
– Stop been difficult
– Stop Shouting
