
Joy In Marriage
Joy in marriage is what everybody desire in marriage because it aid the growth and continuity of that marriage.
Lack of joy in marriage is one of the greatest destroyers of marriage. Since joy cannot “die” a natural death then we need to know what kills it. This is not farfetched however, it is simply because we fail to nurture it.
WHAT WE DO TO KILL JOY IN MARRIAGE
- Taking each other for granted.
- Placing unrealistic demands on our spouses.
- Criticizing each other. 2 Corinthians 10:12
- Negative thinking.
- Failure to pray together.
- Giving attention to our jobs more than our spouse.
- Negative communication.
- Allowing third parties to rule in our homes.
- Failure to say “I love you”.
- Failure to spend time together.
- Keeping records of hurt and offences.
- 12. Perfectionist tendencies.
- Becoming selfish.
- Becoming unloving and uncaring.
- 15. Allowing hatred to stay in the heart.
- Failure to go the extra mile for each other.
- Failure to appreciate each other.
- Accusing each other.
- Blaming each other.
- Reporting each other to friends and families.
- Not providing adequately for each other.
- Loving anybody more than your spouse.
- Not creating time for romance.
- Not creating time for sexual enjoyment and fulfillment.
HOW TO NURTURE JOY IN YOUR MARRIAGE

– Talk positively about each other and to each other.
– Spend time together playing.
– Create time to have fun.
– Appreciate and commend each other generously.
– Crack positive jokes together.
– Talk to friends.
– Develop your family vision.
– Work on common goals.
– Celebrate success together.
– Strengthen each other during challenges
– Motivate each other to do new exploits.
– Encourage each other in times of trouble.
– Hope for good things together.
– Create time for vacation together.
– Deal with the spirit of fear.
– Deal with your misunderstanding; don’t allow it to linger.
– Deal with your worries.
– Deal with the spirit of sadness.
– Share testimonies of victories and successes with each other.
– Pray for each other.
– Pray with each other.
– Study the Bible together.
– Pray for the spirit of joy.
