THE POWER OF “PLEASE” IN MARRIAGE
By Bisi Adewale
“Anxiety in the heart of a man causes depression. But a good word makes it glad”. Prov. 12:25.
Don’t just order people around but rather say: “Please can you give me a cup of water?”, “Please can you help me with that plate?”, “Please, can you help me carry the baby?” and so on.
If you want your husband to support you in the kitchen and with baby-sitting, use this golden word. It works wonders.
If you must be BIG, be humble enough to BEG. Negotiate your victory, negotiate your prosperity, and negotiate a good home.
Using the word ‘please’ does not mean you are helpless. It only means you are hopeful; it shows humility, love, meekness, soberness, wisdom and good understanding.
Never see everything as your right. In fact, you may even wrong your right by fighting for it in the wrong way.
People are ready to go the extra mile for you if you can say “PLEASE” for it pleases them to receive it.
Stop nagging, grumbling and murmuring. Negotiate and call for a good home. Make your partner work for you willingly by begging him, her to do it.
Everybody needs somebody, so nobody should think he can climb the ladder of life alone. If you realize you need people, then throw away your ego and seek help with the word PLEASE.
“IF YOU MUST BE BIG, BE SMALL AND HUMBLE ENOUGH TO ASK FOR HELP”
