Intimacy will not come naturally in your marriage.
It is not in our genes. We are born different, and though desires to connect are always in us, we won’t just connect without the efforts of those in the union.
It may flow when dating, but marriage is another ballgame. You’ve got to be intentional about it and make it happen in your marriage.
1: KNOW ABOUT INTIMACY BUILD-UP:
You need to learn how to build your marriage to an intimate level; you need to intentionally learn about intimacy in marriage.
2: GET KNOWLEDGE OF INTIMATE MARRIAGE:
You need to know the nitty-gritty of intimate marriage, what it is all about, and how to grow your marriage to that level.
3: GET INTIMACY TOOLS:
You need to have the toolbox for building intimate marriages. These tools include thinking right, spending time together, talking right about each other, standing right with each other, and being faithful to each other.
4: KNOW INTIMACY KILLERS:
You need to know intimacy killers; you need to know what can destroy intimacy.
5: KNOW INTIMACY BOOSTERS:
You need to know what can boost your marriage and what can make intimacy strong, and you need to get all the keys to an intimate marriage.
6: PRACTICE INTIMACY:
You need to practice intimacy in marriage and be intentional about getting intimate in your home.
7: TOUCH FOR INTIMACY:
Be intentional about touching each other. This time it is not sexual touches but affectionate ones. It is not about touching breasts or private parts, no. Make it your habit to touch your spouse’s shoulders regularly, hold hands, touch arms, hug, pat the back, massage each other, touch each other’s heads and necks, place legs on each other’s laps, and play with each other’s hair.
8: INVEST MONEY FOR INTIMACY:
Budget money for intimacy in your marriage. Spend money on eating out together, dating each other, and going to the movies. Any money spent on these will be a worthy investment in your marriage.
9: INVEST TIME FOR INTIMACY:
You can never be intimate if you don’t invest adequate time; you need to intentionally create time to be together.
