By Bisi Adewale
I was working with a Company called G.Cappa as an industrial attachment staff. We were 5 staff who were for IT at the accounting department. 3 ladies, two Guys.
Mr. J my Oga a fun-loving individual, called me one day and said jokingly, “You need to befriend one or two of these girls and start to sleep with them, here in the office, I will give you our former office that is now the store room to sleep with them, we have toilet and bathroom there to clean up after the show, I can not be Sleeping with small girls like these, I sleep with big bum mama” he gave me the key to the place to go and check the place. Can you imagine?
Since he said it jokingly, I laugh it off and move on, but to my surprise, he persisted. One day he came to the account pool where all of us have our desks except him who has a special office and called the attention of everybody including the girls and said, “I told bisi to be sleeping with these girls and not waste his youthful age, he did not answer me, have I said anything bad.
All of them, both IT staff and full staff started laughing and making jest of me in a very embarrassing way. He then turned to two of the girls and said Bola and Seye (not their real names) if Bisi wants to be sleeping with you, won’t you allow him? All the girls laughed, and one of them said, “Egbe no bisi”(Bisi is not enlightened or exposed) everybody laughed again. It was a bad situation for me, it was embarrassing.
From that day forward it became a daily issue for me in the office, I could not raise my voice in the place, and I could not talk to anybody, it was like a battlefield for me, and I did not know the reason for the situation was like until years later. I did not know that the devil see the man on my path to destroy this glorious destiny.
Years later, I have become a Pastor, Author of several books, and counselor and was invited to minister in a very big women’s convention in Ibadan. About 3000 Women were in the meeting and I was the only guest minister for the two days, I was greatly honored and respected.
On the first day of the program, I was told that a lady wanted to see me but the protocol did not allow her but she persisted. After the program the second day, I saw the same woman battling the protocol to see me, but they did not allow her, they told her she couldn’t see me because many people made the same request to see me and it will be impossible for me to attend to them after the tiring ministrations, the case ended there, so I thought.
As I was going to the Car on my way back to the Hotel the lady shouted, G.cappa, G.Cappa, Seye G.Cappa, I looked back and saw her, it was one of the Ladies they asked me to be sleeping with, she came with two Children, I beckon on her to come and protocol officials gave way for her, she rushed to me, knelt and hand over her children to me and said, “I just want you to pray for them, I just want you to lay your hands on them, I know your story, God is good to you, just lay your hands on my children, I want them to be like you”
I drew the children to myself, hugged them, laid hands upon them, and prayed for them, she was very happy and felt fulfilled
Lesson 1: be careful about what you do to people in your youthful days, you may think you will never meet them again and you may end up having to live with them all the days of your life. I wonder what that lady would have been saying about me if I was sleeping with them and then they told me to sleep with them.
Lesson 2: I wonder if I would ever become who I am today if I went the path of destruction my Oga wanted me to thread.
Later in life, I met one of the girls again and also met my former oga, I will tell you their own stories in part 2 and 3 of this piece.
