MAKING YOUR LIFE A SUCCESS
As a young man that wants to be stronger than diamond, the thought of success should be paramount in your earth. Please note that success is not about having huge amount of money in the bank, having fleet of cars, building many houses. Of course to have all these is good, but they don’t amount to success, success is much more than that. I won’t try to define success for you as that can be cumbersome because success means different things to different people, but permit me to share my own view of success with you, I see it as:
- Having a very good relationship with the Lord. (Proverbs 3:6)
- Having peace of mind
- Good health
- Good family (living and caring husband) wife and God fearing children.
- Needs of the family is being adequately met
- Good name and integrity.
- Living life in joy.
- Flourishing life (continuous progress physically, socially, spiritually, financially and materially)
To me when you have all these then you are a success. The question, I think you are asking now is, how can I achieve this?
- Form an alliance with God of success. Be acquaint with the Lord, and give your total totality to him. Be happy to be in His presence. Make Him your best friend.
- Live Transparent Life: Guard your image jealously, don’t do things that will taunt your name, because your future is still far ahead of you.
- Be Committed to Growth: Keep on growing, learn, read and never be stagnant, no matter your age; be a student, get to know something new every day of your life.
- Value People: You need people more than they need you. Value them, your family, friends, neighbourhood, church members, etc. Never allow relationship to break without effort from you and never take people for granted.
- Serve God With All Your Heart: Use your time, money, body and property to serve God. He is the only one that can crown your efforts with success. Proverbs 8:22
- Help Others to Fulfill Their Dreams: The more you help others to fulfill their dreams, the more your own path is cleared, the more you receive grace to move forward to do exploit.
- Be Prayerful: You will be living dangerously without prayer, you need to stand tall to defend your territory through prayer and fasting. Do not permit the enemies to destroy your life. Fight back and win.
If you don’t win in the realm of the spirit, you can’t win in the physical
- Live a Balanced life: Your career matters but you must not pursue it to the detriment of your spiritual and family life. Strike a balance; get your priority right, it should be GOD- FIRST, FAMILY SECOND, then career.
- Run Away From Negative Living: This involves womanizing, not been faithful to owns spouse in marriage, drunkenness, night crawling, wife battering drug abuse, pride, stubbornness, etc. these will definitely affect your reputation.
- Discover Your Purpose: Why are you here? What message do you have for the world? What problem are you born on earth to solve? You need to know this and determine your purpose for living. Friend, your success and prosperity is attached to your purpose, don’t die without fulfilling it.
- Have a Vision: When you discover your purpose then turn it to vision. Have a very big vision big enough to use your entire life to pursue it, be on the road for the rest of your life pursuing this vision.
- Have a Focus: Be focused, focus your purpose and your vision, and be doggedly committed to your calling. If you focus it, you have a full course to succeed.
- Handle Marriage With Care: When you eventually get marry handle your marriage with care, don’t be a useless husband, provide for your own family, be a crisis manage never keep malice with your wife, and never beat her, if you do, you will bring the worst out of her. Ephesians 5:25-29
- Prepare to Be a Positive Parent: Make up your mind and start to learn how to be a positive parent, raise children of godly disposition and character
- Work on your Character: Your character will determine your reputation; your reputation will determine the kind of person you will have around you. Deal with anger, pride, stubbornness, procrastination, laziness, lying, stealing, oversleeping, dirtiness, etc.
- Be Humble: If you want to go far, humble yourself, avoid “big me, little you” attitude. Respect people and they will respect and come around you.
- Have Productive Thinking Habit: Have time to think productively, always say it is possible. Imagine great thing, go ahead to do them; if you can think it, you can do it.
- Be Diligent: Be a man of the field, labour with your hands, there is dignity in labour. Real men are not sleepers; they are workers.
- Fulfill all Righteousness: Pay your tithes, and offerings. Take good care of your parents, put God first in everything and success will knock at your door.
