- A PLACE OF JOY
“Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 9:9 KJV
God wants your marriage to be a place of joy and excitement; not a place of fighting, bickering and battles.
- A PLACE OF COMPANIONSHIP
“And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18 KJV
Marriage should be that of companionship, oneness, unity and comradeship. That is what God created it to be.
- A PLACE OF REST
“Then Naomi her mother-in-law said unto her, my daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee.” Ruth 3:1 KJV
God wants your marriage to be a place of perpetual rest. When there are terrible stress and unrest out there, God wants everyone to return home to find rest. That is why he instituted marriage.
- A PLACE OF PEACE
“And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;” Isaiah 32:18 KJV
A home is supposed to be a place to find peace when the whole world is in pieces. A home is supposed to be a hiding place for peace and security.
An evergreen marriage is that which gives room for companionship, joy, peace, oneness and this continues throughout the lifetime of the couple involved.
