Financial Wisdom For Wives

-Pastor Bisi Adewale

It has been proven by research over the years that most women are less concern about financial wisdom or management, that they are more concerned about spending the money than acquiring knowledge on financial management. However, to experience financial freedom and rest of mind, do the following:

1. MANAGE YOUR HEALTH WELL. First thing first! Your health is very important, it is when you are healthy that you can make or spend money on things you like. You must manage your health well else you will spend your hard earned money to fix it and you may become broke and die in penury. Managing your health involves taking time to rest no matter how busy you are. Don’t just work from Monday to Sunday; take time out to rest. Have a resting day no matter the amount of money involve because if you fail to rest, you will breakdown one day and you will now become an investment in the hands of medical doctor or the hospital sooner. Avoid eating too much of canned food and drinks. Eat more of natural fruits, engage in physical exercise and drink a lot of water. If you fail to manage your health, it will soon take your wealth away.
2. LIVE A SIMPLE LIFE. One of the best steps to take towards financial success is to live a simple life. Don’t live the extravagant life. For the sake of tomorrow. Don’t join the club of women who always go for the latest clothes, bag and shoes, necklaces, etc. Stop moving in and out of eatery. Avoid living beyond your means; don’t try to impress your “enemy” to prove a point. Try as much as possible to live a simple life today and you will save yourself and children from a difficult life tomorrow.
3. BE PRODUCTIVE. In this part of the world, there is no glory, dignity and honour for a full-time housewife. As a wife, you’re not expected to be an ‘help eat’ but an helpmeet. Do you want respect from your husband’s family and children? Do you want to win the love of your husband and have solid financial base? Then become productive. Engage your hands in something, get a job, get involved in a trade, find something to sell. There may not be jobs in the labour market, but you can create one for yourself, get some vocational skills like hat making, knitting, fashion designing, event management, decorations and even your deep freezer at home can serve as a money making venture. Whenever you are in the gathering of people, there is always something to sell to them. We ‘re all celebrating Bill gates as the richest man in the world, we all contributed to his success unconsciously by buying computer, because he is selling something. Likewise Apple, Nokia, MTN, GLOBACOM etc. Be productive you will become prosperous. Productivity is the mother of prosperity.
