Mediocrity can be described as when something of quality or someone’s ability is below average.  A mediocre is not clever and is considered less important. In contrast, God is wiser than the wisest and the greatest importance in heaven and on earth. He created heaven and earth including man and all his good; they are not less in quality or below average.  From heaven to earth, the firmaments, all His wonderful works are glorious Psalm19:1-6. He demonstrated His sense for a high quality when He made man exactly in His own image (Psalm 139:14) and showed His unprecedented creativity and dynamism by making them male and female. Genesis 1:27.
The creative skills of God cannot be overemphasized either, He fed the Israelites with manna for years, brought out water from the rock, created a way in the Red Sea and a host of others.  From all God’s works, high quality and creativity cannot be neglected. They are glaring for all to see and cannot but attract.
Nonetheless, Christians of our generation celebrate mediocrity. Choristers don’t want to sing professionally; by the way, secular musicians will not hesitate to go the extra mile to produce the best. Unfortunately, the so-called gospel singers and musicians give flimsy excuses such as what God requires and needs is the heart. Yes, He requires a right heart but also He deserves the best because He is a man with a very high standard. Reason He wants believers to do greater works than He did while on earth. (John 14:12).

Church leaders don’t want to develop themselves in simple communication skills. Church speakers commit and make grammatical errors that are annoying and yet we say God understand. O yes! He understands that we are only celebrating mediocrity due to our laziness to improve on ourselves.
Christian traders, businessmen, and women, apprentice are not left out of this. We present shallow, less quality, below average goods and services to our customers and yet we complain God is not releasing His blessings.

David, Stephen, Joseph, and Daniel were examples of men that were exceptionally skillful and excellent in their endeavours.  They gave a quality work in their career. No wonder God held them in high esteem and they did not stand before mean men because they were completely diligent. Proverbs 22:29
This piece is not meant to indict or castigate anyone but a wake-up call to all and sundry to embrace quality and creativity, as businessmen and women, church leaders, teachers, choir members, civil servants, traders etc. Note that God will never celebrate mediocrity but high quality instead.
