“The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honor”

Philippians 4:4
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice”
— If joy is lost ,everything is lost.

1) DISCONNECTION FROM THE PRESENCE OF KING OF JOY. 4 KILLERS OF JOY IN THE FAMILY
Psalm 16:11
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore”
–Nothing destroys joy at home like getting disconnected from The Lord; God
— For joy to be in your Home, this is what the order of your life must be:
J — Jesus First

Y– You at last
— There is no way you can disconnect from the king of Joy and enjoy Joy
— Happiness in the home can come from what happens, but joy comes from The Lord.
2) WRONG THINKING
— The heart is the seat of Joy,if it is polluted,joy can never be in the house

TWO KINDS OF THOUGHTS IN MARRIAGE
A. POSITIVE THINKING, that is:
LIFE ENHANCING THOUGHTS(LET’S)
B.AUTOMATIC NEGATIVE THOUGHTS(ANTS)
Examples:
“I mis-married”
“My husband does not love me”
“Nobody likes me”
“My husband is cheating on me”
“My wife is not beautiful”
“So and so is better than my husband/Wife”
3) WRONG COMMUNICATION
— The way you talk is a great determinant to happening sin your home.
Ephesians 4:29
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers”
Ephesians 5:19
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to The Lord”
HOW COMMUNICATION AFFECTS JOY IN MARRIAGE
— What you or your spouse allows people to say to you about each other
— What you and your spouse are saying to people about each other.
— What you are saying to your spouse and how you are saying it
— What your spouse is saying to you and how he or she is saying and how you receive it.
4) BAD ATTITUDES
Proverbs 20:11
“Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right”
— Your character is your marriage
— Terrible attitude is the mother of horrible Marriage
— There are four attitudes that determines joy in your Marriage
BAD ATTITUDE TO YOUR SPOUSE:
— Taking him or her for granted
— Excessive anger, bitterness and malice
— Removing courtesy by having disregard for each other.
— Negative privilege syndrome
BAD ATTITUDE TO INLAWS
— Abandonment: When you abandon your in laws
— Fire for fire: You fight them dirty
— family handover: You surrender your family to them reporting every issue to them.
<> BAD ATTITUDE TO BEDROOM LIFE:
— Infidelity proverb 6:32-33
— Sexual denial (1 Corinthians 7:1-5)
<> BAD ATTITUDE TO MONEY:
— Stinginess
— Extravagancy
— Spending to impress others
— Rainfall spending
