15 righteous things singles must do before marriage

Godliness as one of the highways to a successful marriage has some necessary ingredients that go with it, viz; Holiness, Righteousness, Purity, the fear of the Lord, among others. These are highly required for getting godly wisdom for the building of a strong and well-established home. (Proverbs 4:7, Isaiah 54:14)
Godliness is the roof of all godly principles guiding a successful marriage. If the fear of the Lord is deeply rooted in your heart, it will become easy to make your marriage what God wants it to be.
Here are some righteous things singles must do before marriage.
- Give your life to Jesus Christ.
- Live a holy life.
- Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
- Be prayerful and study your Bible regularly. Joshua 1:8
- Be in the service of the Lord.
- Seek the face of God before you make a choice. Psalm 27:1
- Let the Lord lead you. Be sure He is the one leading you. Romans 8:14
- Be sure your intending partner is born again and God-fearing.
- Go for godly counsel. Never get married without the counsel of your pastor or a Christian marriage counselor.
- Have a pure courtship. Courtship should not involve sex, kissing, hugging, pecking, late night meetings behind closed doors. You are not expected to sleep in the same room until after your wedding.
- No cohabitation. Never live with a man or woman until after your wedding.
- Avoid sexual sins like plague.
- Have a glorious wedding. Make sure you are joined together in the church before you move into the same apartment.
- As a man, be ready to love and provide for your wife.
- As a woman, be ready to submit to your own husband. Eph. 5:22
