11 REASONS WHY GOD CREATED MARRIAGE

“And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18 KJV
Marriage is solely God’s idea. Like any manufacturer, He had reasons for instituting it. He has a good agenda for us and that is why he instituted Marriage for our benefit. I will open our eyes to ten reasons He instituted marriage here:
- FOR GOODNESS: Marriage is for our good; it makes our lives better.
“And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18 KJV
- FOR PEACE: To enjoy a lifetime of peace with our spouse is the plan of God.
“Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.” Psalms 122:7 KJV
- FOR REST: To give us rest is one of the major reasons for marriage.
“Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?” Ruth 3:1 KJV
- FOR WELLNESS: So that it can be well with us by having someone to support and stand by us.

- FOR JOY: God wants our joy to be full. That is why he instituted marriage.
“When a man is newly married, he must not be sent into the army. And he must not be given any other special work. For one year he must be free to stay home and make his new wife happy.” Deuteronomy 24:5 ERV
“Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 9:9 KJV
- FOR SYNERGY: To achieve better results in everything we do is one of the reasons for marriage.
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 KJV
- FOR STRENGTH: For strength and stability, God gave us marriage.
“And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12 KJV
- PROSPERITY: “Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.” Psalms 122:7 KJV
- FOR COMPANIONSHIP: God gave us marriage so that we may not be lonely. He made marriage for our fellowship; the kind that cannot be gotten from any other human.

- FOR PLEASURE: “Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.” 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 KJV
- FOR PROCREATION: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and saubdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28 KJV
