THE POWER OF CHOICE IN A RELATIONSHIP
THE POWER OF CHOICE IN A RELATIONSHIP
By Bisi Adewale

The choice of a life partner may determine the success of a marriage. It must be made with utmost care because it is a lifetime choice.
POWER OF CHOICE
- Your life is the total sum of your choices.
- Your choices determine your chances in life.
- God must be involved in your choices if you must live in peace.
- Your choices must be prayerfully made.
- There are three important choices in your life that must be made with care: a) The choice of whom to serve (salvation) God or devil, b) whom to marry and c) what to do (career).
- Marital choice must not be based on lust, pity, beauty, money, position, success, selfish motives, and wealth and so on.
- Follow God’s plan for your life 24:12-14.
REQUIREMENT FOR CHOICE MAKING
Before you think of choosing a life partner, you must put the following criteria in place:
- Genuine Conversion. You must be genuinely converted; you must be truly born again.
- You must be filled with the Holy Spirit. Baptism of the Holy Sprit is a must if you want your choice to please God Romans 8:14.
- You must be prayerful, committing your choice into the hands of God. You must stand against every manipulative power in you and your choice.
- You must be mature physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, socially, temperamentally, vocationally, financially, and morally and so on.
- You must be patient. If you rush into marriage you may be crushed.
- No matter how anointed you are, you cannot see your back. That is why you need people to counsel you. Go for counseling before marriage Prov. 12:15; 15:22, 11:14.
- God’s leading. Don’t just jump into marriage. Let the Lord lead you. He will not lead you astray.
- You must love the person before you marry him. Love is the bedrock of any successful home.
