FIVE PHASES OF MARRIAGE (PART 2)

THIRD PHASE – FOUNDATION
In life, the foundation is everything. A house built without a solid foundation will soon collapse, so also is any marriage. For a marriage to be excellent, the foundation must be built on Jesus. You need to get it right from the beginning, everything you need which are the materials or ingredients must be in place. You must know all it takes to get it right without assumption but getting all your facts. Marriage is not done on a trial by error, so, let your foundation be rock solid for an excellent and blissful marriage to be ascertained.
Lay a good foundation. This is very important. If you don’t get it right now there may not be another opportunity to amend it in future. Note this; there is no substitute for foundation because it is the place upon which the pillars and the main building stand. Be intentional about having a great foundation, NEVER be in a rush.
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalms 11:3)
Lay your foundation on Christ Jesus, not on material things that will not last or endure. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11 KJV).
TYPES OF FOUNDATION:
1. Zero foundation (Non-existing foundation). This union has no foundation. Maybe the marriage came up accidentally because of the illicit sex that led to a pregnancy and, eventually a hurriedly prepared wedding that was never envisaged or due to pressure from families and friends.
- Wrong foundation. It is a foundation laid on money, sex, beauty, gift, personal gains and so on. The fact that it is wrong from your set out doesn’t mean it will turn put right along the line.
3. Right foundation. It is a foundation laid on Christ Jesus, a marriage that is founded on prayer, divine direction, love, patience and so on.
