When we talk about a wasted life, this particular case often comes to my mind, it is the case of a girl called Sariyu.
She was supposed to be the next ‘Head Girl’ of her school, nobody can fault this. With her level of intelligent, good manner, beauty and maturity everybody knew that she is naturally the next ‘Head Girl’.
Even though she was not in my school her fame got to my own school, her performances during Inter-School races was second to none, she was just the best.
But there was a dark aspect of Sariyu’s life that was not known to many of us, she was sexually involved with so many people including some students and male teachers in her school. This fact was not known until her death was suddenly announced. She died in the process of trying to abort a pregnancy.
When she realized that she was pregnant she got some drugs through the help of her boyfriend and she died in the process, she was rushed to an hospital where she later died a very painful death.
Her dream of becoming a lawyer died on the bed of carelessness. Some of her mates in school at that time graduated from the University I graduated in 1992, but she had been in the grave for about 6 years by that time, maybe she must have been a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) today, but she missed it and lived a wasted life because of her carelessness.
The boyfriend that got the drug for her is now an Engineer married with 3 children. He helped to waste her but moved on with his own life. That is why every young lady should be careful.
