3 KINDS OF PEOPLE THAT COULD RUIN YOUR MARRIAGE

The calibre of people we flock around, their characters, values and how much intrusion we allow into our marriages can lead to failure in any marriage. If you hang out with divorcees, you are indirectly preparing your divorce papers. That is why we need to look at associational factors that can destroy our marriages.
- Friendship: Our friends can make or mar our marriages. They can influence us. Steer clear of people with troubled marriages, people with wrong notions about family life, people who display disregard for their spouses, single parents or even divorce stained individuals. It is easy for them to drag you down the dirt road they travel once you are a friend to them.
Solution: Choose your friends wisely. Let God lead you in all things. Remember evil communication corrupts good manners.
- Third Party: A good marriage is between the man and his wife intimately joined together in love. As soon as the couple allows a third party to instigate one against the other, they are slowly digging the grave of their marriage.
Solution: A third party can be your father, mother, friend, children, colleagues, neighbour, etc. Nobody should be closer to you than your spouse, and none of them should be allowed to cause disunity between you and your spouse.
- In-Laws: Among all the third parties, in-laws are the most difficult to handle and the Devil has used many of them to destroy many marriages.
Solution: Don’t ever permit any in-law to come between both of you. Love your in-law, cater and care for them, but both of you should be wise in relating with them. Love your spouse more than your family members.
