 A relationship requires an initial knowledge of the self to make the right decisions and to express a more sincere and genuine love for another person.

But on the other hand when you notice any of the following red flags during your courtship, you need to exercise extreme caution, pray very well and see your counselor before you take any further step.

1. Hatred toward your partner.
2. Lack of deep love and affection.
3. Sexual sin.
4. Sexual advances from your partner.
5. When lust is in control ( kissing, touching, fondling or romancing). These are danger signals.
6. Backsliding partner or when he/she is indifferent to the things of God.
7. When there is an absence of give and take.
8. When you notice spiritual dryness or coldness in your partner. When he/she hates prayer, avoids Christian gatherings despise the Bible etc. you need to be very careful.
9. When you notice stubbornness in your partner.
10. If you cannot freely express yourself during courtship, it is dangerous going into that relationship.
11. Constant quarrelling, bickering, disagreement and provocation of one another.
12.  Sharp doctrinal differences.
13. Fear or loss of peace of mind.
14. When you feel your partner is hiding something very important from you.
15. When you notice untruthfulness, inconsistency and lying.
16. When you notice that your partner is keeping a double relationship at the same time.
17. When everybody around you, your parents, pastor, friend or family members are against the relationship, you need to be very careful because they are likely to be right.
18. When you find yourself being beaten by your man, you need to be watchful because that may be a pointer to what he will do in the future.
