SETTING PRIORITIES RIGHT IN MARRIAGE

People don’t attach much importance to settling priorities right but the level of intimacy and even success of your marriage can be greatly influenced by your priorities.
Priority is defined as the thing that you think is most important and needs your attention before anything else.
Wrong priority is the major reason many marriages falls and crashed out today. A lot of people are not getting their priorities right.
Common patterns of modern marriage:
- Man places his career, job over his wife
- Many men prefer to hang out with their friends than to go home to be with their wives.
- Women on their own rank their children higher than their husbands.
- Today, many women now make their jobs number two priority instead of their children.
- Both husband and wife work on their own career, hence have no time for each other at all.
- There is a demand on our time today than ever before.
- Television is another “devil” that has our priorities at home (Africa Magic,Zeeworld etc).
- Pressure of work is really affecting most families in the world today.
Types of priorities
Priorities can be divided into the following:
- Work Family God Disaster priority
- Family Work God Turbulent priority
- Work God Family Foolish priority
- God Work Family Wrong priority
- God Family Work Perfect priority
For your priority to be right and perfect, your personal relationship with God should come first, followed by your nuclear family, then your work, business and career.
A good relationship with God and your family will give you peace, strength, focus, credibility, rest of mind and support to do your work.
If we learn how to set our priority right, giving adequate love, time and attention to our God and immediate family, more homes will flourish. The value you place on your marriage and family will be determined by how much investment of love, time and money you put in it
