_There are two major divine laws that make communication
effective in a family. You need to know them so as to make
communication effective in your family.DIVINE LAWS FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN MARRIAGE
1) SALTAND GRACE LAW
“Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that
ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
Colossians 4:6 KJV
Speak in such a way that your speech will bring joy, happiness,
encouragement and motivation.DIVINE LAWS FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN MARRIAGE
So you need to ask yourself before talking, are these words mixed
with salt and grace?
2) TRUTH IN LOVE LAW
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all
things, which is the head, even Christ:”
Ephesians 4:15 KJV
Always speak the truth in love. What you are saying may be
truthful, but you must present it out of love
Example 1:Awoman that broke many cups in the presence of her
husband may seem to be careless, but her husband who is wise
and not also careless will speak the truth in love. Instead of saying
“Woman You are very careless and worthless”
He may say, “Dear, you will need to be more careful with fragile
things in this house”
Example 2: The wife of a man who is lazy and not behaving
rightly may say this without love: DIVINE LAWS FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN MARRIAGE
“Mr. Husband I don’t think you will make it in life the way you are
sleeping and behaving. You will die poor”
Instead she may say: My husband, you will need to work hard and
get better so that all of us will live a better and prosperous life,
instead of not taking your job serious.
DIVINE TEST OF COMMUNICATION
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”
Ephesians 5:19 KJV
This scripture teaches us about Communication test in Marriage,
it talks about;
“talking to yourselves”: it simply means To communicate
rightly and deeply with each other.
“In psalms”: Psalms are songs that are used to praise, appreciate
and worship God.
To sing psalms to your spouse is not about singing Psalms 1 to 150
in the Bible. This simply means; to appreciate your spouse, praise
each other regularly and constantly, and to celebrate each other
with words and other means of communication.
SHOUTING LOUD: Appreciating your spouse is a divine
calling according to this scripture from Ephesians 5, which is the
marriage Chapter of the Bible. If you are not appreciating your
spouse you are not doing the will of God.
“And Hymns”: Hymns are known to inspire, motivate and
encourage. To speak to your spouse in Hymn means to talk to
encourage each other, to motivate each other, to inspire and lift up
the spirit of your spouse
SHOUTING LOUD: If you say things that discourage or
depress your spouse you are not fulfilling this scripture.DIVINE LAWS FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN MARRIAGE
“And Spiritual songs”: Spiritual songs are songs that bring joy,
mixed with dancing and loud proclamation unto God. Singing
spiritual songs to your wife/Husband means always saying things
that will bring joy, dancing and happiness to your spouse
SHOUTING LOUD: If you say anything that kills joy, removes
dancing and grinds happiness to a halt in your marriage, you will
not be at the center of the will of God.
So before you say anything to your spouse you need to ask
yourself the following questions:
IS IT A PSALM?
IS IT A HYMN?
IS IT A SPIRITUAL SONG?
WILL IT ALLOW MY SPOUSE TO SING MELODY IN HIS
OR HER HEART TO THE LORD?
If you can’t say yes to those four questions then that word you
want to say will not glorify God. Please don’t say it. DIVINE LAWS FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN MARRIAGE
