SKILLS TO DEVELOP FOR MARRIAGE – Part 3

To become a successful parent require great work but it is rewarding. Paying the price today will culminate into great joy tomorrow. Here lies the concluding part of the skills needed to be a great parent:

  1. HEALTH MANAGEMENT SKILL: 3 John 1: 2. Genesis 1: 29. It is generally belief that health is life. No health, no marriage. Bad health normally put a strain on marriage. That is why you must improve your skill on health management .Health management at home ranges from eating balanced diet, eating right. Knowing what to eat and what not to eat is a prelude to a healthy life style. It is advisable to eat more of natural fruits and water. Then avoid eating heavy food at night, avoid soft drinks because they are hard to body tissues. Avoid red meat as soon as you clock age 40.If you manage your health well, you will have no business in the hospital.

15. RELATIONSHIP SKILL: 1 Peter 4: 8 -10. Marriage is a combination of relationships. Parties in it must be vast in managing relationships with firstly, their spouse, children, in-laws, neighbours, colleagues, among others. Lack of relationship skill is the reason behind many crises between husband and wife.

16. MOTIVATIONAL SKILL: Colossians 4: 5 -6. When you experience mudslinging, rejection, dejection, failure and unpleasant situation outside, home should be a place of motivation where the couple can encourage each other to press further despite the challenge. The best motivation you can get is from your spouse.
Be a motivator to your spouse, stir him up to greater achievement.

17. WOMEN MANAGEMENT SKILL: 1 Peter 3: 7. Most men in marriage lacks women management skill and this have denied them joy and full benefits of having women in their lives. To manage women effectively, you must be tender, soft spoken, affection, attention, considerate, emotional, loving, caring, sacrificing, trustworthy and a giver. Women are very complex; you will need to develop yourself very well to be able to manage them.

18. MEN MANAGEMENT SKILL: 1 Peter 3: 1- 6. Men are totally different from women. How you handle woman is not the same way you will handle a man. For you to handle a man as a woman, you will need to be respectful, submissive, truthful, romantic, supportive, appreciative and prayerful. Update your men management skill by taking time to study who a man is. Read books about men to know more about them.
19. PREGNANT WOMEN’S MANAGEMENT SKILLExodus 23:26. Many women have experience miscarriage, still birth, due to the fact that men in their lives does not know the difference between a pregnant woman and the one that is not. A pregnant woman needs affection, helping hand, relief from hard labour, understanding, and support. She may complain of backache but never use hot water to rub her back,She should not take any drug not prescribe by a medical doctor. Encourage her to attend antenatal clinic. Don’t add to the burden of a pregnant woman, relief her by taking care of her.

20. IN-LAW MANAGEMENT SKILL: Ruth 1: 8. In-laws are vital to the success or failure of marriages in this part of the world. Mismanaging them could spell doom on the marriage. They must not be allowed to run a home else the marriage will be ruined. Do not hate your in laws, love and take good care of them but don’t live too close to them, never live in the same house with them, don’t report your spouse to them, keep your secrets away from them, don’t depend on them for sustenance.
