The major issues here about money, sex, time management, in-laws, career, and child rearing and understanding each other. Moving from unreal love life to real marriage and real issues. Most divorces do take place at this stage.

- Disappointment because of unmet pre-marriage dreams, expectations and fantasies.
- Display of our true character to the changing of our spouse.
- Disappearing of pre-marriage tantalizing romantic love and intimacy.

- Learning how to spend money together as couple, catering for others financially.

- Learning how to handle all manners of people around the family like in-laws, children, friends, neighbor, house maids, nanny and children teachers, etc.
- Handling problems associated with pregnancy and delivery
- Handling problems associated with new born baby
- Adjusting to sex during pregnancy and after delivery
- Learning how to handle sex and romance despite our jobs, new born baby and other commitments.
- Demonstrating gender, background, temperamental, academics, denomination, cultural, exposure, culture personality, spiritual, sexual, financial, physical, parental, conception and emotional differences.

- Handling differences in child care between mother and daughter in-law.
- Resumption after maternity leave and the little baby, crèche, nanny and child care.
- House maid, their problems, couples disappointments about them.
- Choosing elementary school for our children.
- Payment of rent and schools fees, food and supply.
- Cooking, laundry, shopping
- Entering first season of parenting.
What to do:
- Pray to God to help you, nothing is too small to commit into the hands of God.
- Learn. Keep on learning. Read books, attend marriage schools, attend seminars, ask questions, have a family mentor, have a student heart and learn from the right place.
- Be patience with each other. Be a student of your spouse.
- Keep on adjusting, we all need to adjust because no two people are totally compatible.
- Mentor couple. Have a mentor couple, an elderly couple that is godly.
- Plan to build your own house. This is the right time to begin to build your house or plan towards it.
- Begin to invest. Don’t spend all your money rather save and invest part of it.
