Most people in marriage do not know what love in marriage is all about. They thought it is just a feeling and when they don’t feel the feeling again they think love is over. I want to show you what love in marriage is. If you do all these eighteen things I will mention here regularly you will not only understand what love is in a marriage but you will enjoy it in your marriage. The feelings of love will return to your marriage and you will be lovers again.
1: ACCEPTANCE: love in marriage means you will accept your spouse in every sense. You will accept the qualities of your spouse, his or her outlook, abilities etc. you will do this without comparing him with any other person out there, no matter how you feel.
2: ATTENTION: Nobody should ever get your attention more than your spouse. Your spouse must never pray or fight for your attention. It is what you owe him or her. Jobs, Children, Church, and Friends must never take your attention away from the one you promised the whole world to love.
3: AFFECTION: Showing affection to your spouse is a way to show him or her and the world that you love your spouse, don’t shy away to show you are a lover.
4: TOUCHING: Touching your spouse affectionately is a way to show you are in love with him or her. There are several affectionate parts of your spouse’s body you must touch regularly, they are not sexual parts but they draw you closer, make you more affectionate and intimate, and make it a point of duty to touch them regularly. Some of them are shoulders, laps, back, hands, arms, and head.
5: HELP: You are willing to help your spouse live better, become a better person and fulfil destiny.
6: COMMUNICATE: You will talk effectively to your spouse. You will talk to your spouse you will not talk to your spouse.
7: APOLOGY: You are willing to apologize when you are wrong, you won’t think or say you are always right.
8: FORGIVE: Love in marriage means, You are willing to forgive your spouse no matter what happens and under any condition. You know you are married to a human, who will likely make mistakes as you journey together in life, you bear in mind that you always make mistakes and you need forgiveness too.
9: FAITHFUL: You are ready to be faithful to your spouse all the days of your life without looking outside for sexual pleasure, but to be satisfied with whatever your spouse can give.
10: LOYAL: Be totally loyal to your Spouse and let everybody know you do. Your wedding vow is a declaration of loyalty. You’ve shown the whole world where your loyalty lies and there should not be any pretence about that.
11: PROTECT: You are willing to protect and defend your spouse. Defend your spouse from your Family, and friends and assault from any corner.
12: GIVE: You can give without loving but you can’t live without giving. One great way to show love to your spouse is to be a giver.
13: PLAY: Lovers play, lovers are not executives in their relationship. If you want a great marriage, you must play with your spouse.
14: SERVE: are you willing to serve your spouse? You can’t be in love without being a servant, servants are lovers, and lovers are servants. Be willing and ready to serve each other, that is love.
15: SACRIFICE: You are willing to make sacrifices for your spouse, you are not only going to serve when it is convenient but to serve when things are difficult for you to do just for the benefit of your spouse.
16: KIND: You are ready to be kind to your spouse in every situation. You will utter kind words, you will take kind actions, and you will think kind thoughts towards your spouse, all the days of your life.
17: CARE: You are ready to care for your spouse in weakness and in health. Standing as a lifetime caregiver to your spouse is what love in marriage is all about.
18: DATING: Dating your spouse regularly is what love is all about. Spending time to go out together without your children, just the two of you is what love is all about.
