THE SEVEN CIRCUSES OF A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE

Marriage is a 7 ring circus, with each meeting at a point. Once any of these circuses are bypassed, there is no way the marriage will be successful. So, if an excellent marriage that can be emulated by your children and everyone around you is your desire, you must live diligently by each circus.
One of the definitions of CIRCUS is that it is a round space in a town or city where multiple streets meet. So, the marriage Circuses are principles that must be applied and adhere to in marriage and once each meet, an excellent marriage is achieved.
The following are the multiple streets that people in marriage must be fully determined to live by in order to meet at the point of an enviable marriage.
CIRCUS OF GENUINE CONVERSION: this is the main point at which other circus meets. Without genuine conversion, the relationship or marriage can never work. It will just be a union full of troubles and commotion. Both the man and the woman must know their God for them to do exploit in life. God must be the centre of that home, the overall head giving instruction to the man on how to lead his family.
CIRCUS OF LEAVING: this is a divine order for men to leave their parents, family, friends and neighbours. Leaving must be done, for marriage to truly work. This leaving is not for you to abandon your family and allow them to suffer but that you leave them physically, emotionally, financially etc. Do not depend on them for survival again or emotional needs.
CIRCUS OF CLEAVING: if leaving is not properly done, there will be nothing called cleaving. To cleave is to be fully joined to your spouse alone till death do you part.
CIRCUS OF ONE FLESH: a one flesh marriage is a marriage where two have truly become one in all things. Finance will not separate them, unpleasant situations or challenges of life will never divide them, rumour will not hold any water to them neither will third party have a way to cause confusion between them.
CIRCUS OF NAKEDNESS: this is another very important circus where all marriages must meet. Nakedness in marriage is not when couples enjoy the sexual act of marriage; it is been open without keeping any secret from each other. Nakedness is a vulnerability in marriage without shame.
CIRCUS OF SUBMISSION: this is usually used wrongly by people. Submission is in two faces: Submission to one another in reverence to God and the wife submitting to her husband. Being submissive is not foolishness or weakness but it is strength exhibited in obedience to God.
CIRCUS OF LOVE: this is the greatest of all. You must love sacrificially, in every way and everything.
Once all these are in place, you can never go wrong as a Couple. Nothing must be done in selfishness.
