What Good Marriage Will Do For You Pt 2
Every body desired good marriage, but it does not come by accident, you have to work it out. You can never over emphasized the result it will bring to your marriage. listed bellow are what good marriage will do for you.
1. Strength. Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him… (Eccl 4:12) A good marriage is the foundation of both the physical, emotional, financial and spiritual because it leads to strength and formidability. It helps during spiritual warfare, sickness, financial limits, etc.
2. Focus. A good marriage allows you to focus on your career and calling. Nobody can deny the fact that a turbulent marriage, separation and divorce are all serious sources of distractions in life.
3. Credibility. People believe that if you cannot keep a home, you are not worthy to be a leader. It enhances credibility. That is why many churches are looking for pastors with good marriages to lead them. You can definitely not be the president of the United States of America without being a good husband and father. (1 Timothy 3:4-5)
4. Synergy. “Because they have a GOOD REWARD for their labour”. Eccl 4:9. Mathematically, 1+1=2 but in God’s agenda for marriage, 1+1=1. Howbeit, God’s expectation of marriage is 1+1=3. In good marriages, where the couples are truly one, their result will be more than their expectation. Synergy is the technical result that is produced by two people combining their energy, efforts, abilities, or ideas. A good marriage is known to generate greater results than what the two people could have done differently. That is why the Bible calls it “good reward”.
5. Support. “Again if two lie down together, they will keep warm but how can one be warm alone?” Eccl 4:11. A good marriage is a source of support for every individual. It gives all-round support for people in the marriage.
The presence of God. “A threefold cord is not easily broken”. Eccl 4:12. God is always available as the “3rd cord” in every good and godly marriage. He is there to bind them together and sustain them in time of needs. God will never dwell in the place of confusion, He dwells where peace lives. So if you desire the presence of God, build a strong and healthy marriage.
