15 QUALITIES OF TRUE LOVE- (A must read for singles)
In the book of First Corinthians chapter 13, God, through Paul gave us the perfect definition of love and its qualities. Let us check these qualities, if any of these qualities is missing in your so call love you are not having a true love, it is either lust or infatuation. (Please read I Cor. 13 before you proceed).
(1) LOVE SUFFERS LONG- True love is ready to suffer with the other party, they are not fair – whether lovers, they are DEAR and THERE even if things are not going well.
(2) LOVE IS KIND – True love will look at the other party with compassion, hence it will not want to hurt him/her, hence it will not ask for sex since he knows it will destroy the partner, it will not encourage abortion under any circumstances, kindness is love in action, kindness is loving people more than they deserve.
(3) LOVE DOES NOT ENVY – Some brothers must not see their would be wife discussing with any other brother while some sisters hate seeing their brothers with any other sister. They are envious. This is not true love.
(4) LOVE DOES NOT PARADE ITSELF – It puts the other party first in all things, it is not self centered.
(5) LOVE IS NOT PROUD (NOT PUFFED UP). Love is humble; it knows that humility is ability. Love prefers to submit than to fight.
(6) DOES NOT BEHAVE RUDELY – It has an inner thoughtfulness which thinks first of the other party and his or her feelings, it is never rude, it envelopes itself with meekness.
(7) LOVE DOES NOT SEEK ITS OWN – Love will not go all out to satisfy his own lustful desire to the detriment of the other party’s future and destiny, it is ready to wait till after wedding before any intimate relationship.
(8) NOT EASILY PROVOKED – Love is gentle and it destroys anger. Inadequacies in the life of the other party is seen to be prayed about not to be attacked.
(9) LOVE THINKS NO EVIL- He thinks no evil, he never plans in his heart to destroy the other party but how to better their lot.
(10) LOVE DOES NOT REJOICE IN INIQUITY ¬True love fears God and obeys him, any form of iniquity is an abomination in the presence of true love.
(11) LOVE REJOICES IN TRUTH – Love will never encourage the other party to tell a lie to his/her parents so that they may be able to travel together.
(12) LOVE BEARS ALL THINGS – It bears the burden of the beloved.
(13) LOVE BELIEVES ALL THINGS.
(14) LOVE ENDURES ALL THINGS
(15) LOVE NEVER FAILS.
Like a star which lacks luster in the light, love shines best in the dark.
Before you consider marriage, you must be sure you are in love and that the other party loves you, NEVER MARRY SOMEBODY YOU DO NOT LOVE.
You do not fall into true love, you grow into it, hence; STOP FALLING, PLEASE RISE.
You do not show true love by fornicating together, TRUE LOVE WAITS, True love encourages purity and discipline, true love obeys God.
