Eight Things You Must Know Before Thinking of Marriage

Feeding bottle is meant for babies; adult has nothing to do with it, except to use it to feed babies.
While a feeding bottle is meant for babies, marriage is not meant for babies. It is not for boys/girls; it is for men and women that are ready to take responsibilities. Marriage is not a daycare center; it is not a crèche or a nursery class. It is a place of duty and sacrifice.
Immature singles should never think of a wedding now.
“Therefore shall a MAN leave his father and mother and be joined to his WIFE, and they shall become one flesh”, Genesis 2:24.
It is a man that has to be joined to his wife, not a boy to his girlfriend. You must be matured before the wedding. Any wedding between a man and an immature woman is a feeding- bottle wedding.
Before you think of a wedding, you must be mature in the following areas:
- Physically- You must not be a toddler or a teenager. You must be an adult before the wedding. Please note that being 28 does not make you mature enough for a wedding. There is more to maturity than age. In fact, age is just a date on the calendar.
- Spiritually– Before you think of a wedding, you must be matured spiritually. You must be born again, prayerful, addicted to the Bible, spirit-filled and sensitive to God’s leading because that is what can make your marriage successful.
- Emotional Maturity- You must be in charge of your emotions and learn to control your tongue, anger, joy, sadness, depression, stress, etc.
- Mental Maturity- You must have the right mentality about marriage, sex, in-laws, men, women, children, etc, before thinking of marriage.
- Social Maturity- You must know how to make and keep friends; you must be friendly, sociable, approachable, generous, hospitable, reliable and dependable.
- Financial Maturity- You must know how to make, give, spend and invest money. A financially matured person knows that ten per cent of his earnings belong to God; he pays his tithe and offering and is not stingy or extravagant but prudent, focused, visionary and take good care of his family
- Moral Maturity- You must be able to caution yourself emotion about sex wisely before the wedding so you will not fall victim of extramarital affairs and also you must deal with passion for food. Lust and other sexual immorality have destroyed many giants and you must not allow it to destroy you.
- Domestic Maturity- You must be matured at home fronts. A lady must know how to prepare good food, take good care of the children and clean the house before even thinking of a wedding that will graduate to marriage.
