THE PRUDENT WOMAN
THE PRUDENT WOMAN
By Bosede Obanla
Prudence is one virtue all women must have in order to run a great family. This is another treasure in a woman that makes her precious in the sight of her husband and even in the sight of God. Looking at these verses critically, we could see that the Bible really focuses on her diligence. She combines wisdom with hardwork. She used her hands to work hard in order to provide for the family. She does not sit down idle at home just to consume, neither is she a busybody in another person’s business. She actively contributes to the family upkeep.
Note that she also produces some goods with her hands and like merchant ships, she carries them for sales afar off in exchange for what she needs at home and she comes back with profit. That is prudence. She is very thoughtful and hardworking, even out of her profit, she buys a field and plants a vineyard, all for the family and not for selfish interest. She is very diligent and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Diligence and prudence in the life of a woman is a great treasure that God has deposited in our lives. Prov., 19:14. It is the ‘good thing’ that men are looking for. When a woman is thoughtful and able to exercise divine wisdom and good judgment in planning for the family and she combines it with hardwork, she is a RARE GEM.
Woman, how are you making use of this great treasure God has deposited in you? Are you hardworking and prudent? Or do you just depend on your husband and sit down lazily waiting to consume. You can also think of how you can boost the family income by contributing actively into the finances of the family. Think of what you can do , be creative, there is an idea deposited in you that can change your world.
